Creating Your First Agent

You probably already have one
Most new TriLuna accounts come with an AI agent ready to go. This guide explains what TriLuna creates for you when you sign up, how to create more agents, and what to change first so the agent sounds like your business.

What TriLuna creates depends on how you signed up.

Signing up at triluna.app/signup

TriLuna creates an agent called “<Your name>‘s Answering Service”. It is set up as a general answering service:

Greeting: “Hi, you’ve reached <your name>‘s answering service. How may I help you today?”
Instructions: greet callers warmly, find out why they’re calling, take messages, and answer basic questions.
Owner: you.

If you joined through an invitation to an organisation, no agent is created. Your organisation’s agents are shared with you instead. See Sharing an Agent and Requesting Access.

Signing up with Try Now

Try Now builds an agent for your business:

Enter your name, email, business name, the business address (optional, but it helps the lookup) and a password.
TriLuna looks up your business’s public listing and shows what it found: name, address, category, phone, rating, and a short AI-written description.
If it’s right, click Yes, create my AI agent. If not, click This doesn’t look right, correct the business name or address, and try again.
TriLuna creates an agent called “<Business name> Assistant”, which knows your business’s name, type, location, phone and website.
Check your email and click the verification link within 24 hours to open your account.

The Try Now agent is deliberately cautious while it’s new. It won’t make bookings, quote prices, or promise anything it can’t check. Instead it offers to take a message. Once you’ve added your own details, you can relax these rules in its behavior (see below).

Creating another agent

Go to My Agents and click Create New Agent.
Choose an Agent Type:
- Basic Agent: describe what you want in a sentence or two, for example “A friendly receptionist for a dental clinic that takes messages and gives opening hours.”
- Advanced Business Agent: enter your business name and address, and TriLuna builds the agent from your public listing, as Try Now does.
Pick an AI model, or leave the default.
Click Generate Agent. You’ll see a preview of the name, voice, AI model, first message and instructions.
Click Create Agent, or Back to change your description.

The new agent appears in My Agents straight away.

Creating an agent by talking to one

If one of your agents has Voice Agent Creation turned on (available on private personal assistant agents), you can call it and say “create a new agent”. It asks what the agent should do, creates it, and can call you back for a quick test. The new agent appears in My Agents within a few minutes. It starts with no tools and no phone number of its own.

Your first five minutes with a new agent

Open the agent from My Agents and work down this list:

Rename it with the pencil icon next to its name, if you want something friendlier.
Check the greeting and instructions under Behavior Management. Add what callers actually ask about: opening hours, services, prices, and what to do with urgent calls. See How to Set Agent Behavior.
Pick a voice under Voice Selection. See Agent Voice Selection.
Make a test call with the test button at the top of the agent page. Listen for anything wrong and adjust the instructions.
Give it a phone number so customers can reach it. A new agent doesn’t come with one. See Call Forwarding Setup if you want calls to your existing number to reach the agent.

Common questions

I signed up but don’t see an agent. If you joined through an organisation invitation, that’s expected. Otherwise, check you verified your email, then reload My Agents. If it’s still empty, email support.

The Try Now lookup found the wrong business. Click This doesn’t look right and add the full street address. It narrows the search.

I didn’t get the verification email. Check your spam folder. The link expires after 24 hours. If it has expired, email support.

Can I delete the agent TriLuna created for me? Yes. Open it and choose Remove Agent. You can create a new one any time with Create New Agent.
