SMS Sending Mode (Draft Review)
Group owners can choose whether the AI sends text messages to members directly, or queues them as drafts for an admin to review first. The setting lives on the group's edit page.
What this setting does
When your group’s AI agent generates an SMS to a member — a meeting reminder, a reply to a scheduling question, an announcement — you can control whether that message goes out automatically or waits for human approval.
This is the SMS Sending Mode toggle, found on the group edit page (My Groups → select a group → Edit). It appears for dial-out and podcast groups.
| Toggle state | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Checked — Review SMS messages before they go out | Every AI-generated SMS is saved as a draft. An admin reviews it in the admin dashboard and sends it (or edits/rejects it) by hand. Nothing reaches members until a person approves it. |
| Unchecked — direct send | AI-generated SMS is sent immediately to members, with no review step. |
When to use draft review (checked)
Leave the toggle checked when you want a person in the loop. This is the default for new groups. Use it when:
- The group is new and you’re still tuning how the AI communicates.
- Messages are going to a sensitive audience and tone matters.
- You want an admin to catch mistakes before members ever see them.
In this mode the AI also cannot create meetings on its own from an SMS conversation — meeting-booking requests are held for admin approval too.
When to turn off draft review (unchecked)
Uncheck the toggle when you trust the AI to operate unattended and you want members to get instant responses. Use it when:
- You’ve reviewed enough drafts to be confident in the AI’s messaging.
- Fast turnaround matters more than a review step (e.g. last-minute reminders).
- You want the AI to schedule meetings directly from member texts.
How to change it
- Go to My Groups and open the group you want to configure.
- Click Edit.
- Scroll to the SMS Sending Mode section.
- Check or uncheck Review SMS messages before they go out.
- Click Save.
The change takes effect immediately for all new AI-generated messages in that group. It does not affect drafts already waiting in the admin dashboard.
Where drafts go
When draft review is on, pending messages appear in the admin SMS dashboard for review. An admin can approve a draft (sends it as-is), edit it before sending, or reject it. Rejected drafts with a corrected reply help the AI improve its wording on future messages.
