Deactivating (Pausing) a Group

⏸️ Taking a break? Deactivate instead of deleting.
Deactivating pauses a group. Everything is kept (members, phone number, recurring schedules, meeting history), and you can switch it back on at any time with Reactivate.

Deactivate a group

  1. Open the group from My Groups.
  2. Press Deactivate at the top of the page, next to Edit Group.
  3. A confirmation lists the group’s upcoming meetings, which will be cancelled.
  4. Leave Text participants that their upcoming meetings are cancelled ticked if you want everyone invited to those meetings to get a text. Each person gets one message that covers all of their cancelled meetings.
  5. Press Deactivate.

The group’s badge changes to Inactive, and a banner at the top of the page shows that it’s paused.

In the TriLuna Groups app on Android, open the group, choose Edit, and set Status to Inactive.

What happens while a group is inactive

  • No meetings start. Scheduled meetings were cancelled when you deactivated, and no new ones start automatically.
  • Recurring schedules are paused, not deleted. No new meetings are created from them while the group is inactive.
  • No reminders or invitations go out, and no new meeting suggestions are made.
  • You can’t schedule, start or dial out a meeting for the group. Reactivate it first.
  • Calling the group’s dial-in number plays a message saying the group is not currently active.
  • The group stays in your group list, along with its members, phone number and meeting history.

Reactivate a group

Open the group and press Reactivate, either at the top of the page or in the yellow banner. The group is active again straight away:

  • Recurring schedules start creating meetings again on their next run, usually within a few minutes.
  • Meetings that were cancelled when you deactivated stay cancelled. Schedule a new one, or let the recurring schedule create the next one.

Frequently asked questions

I got “A group call is in progress” when I tried to deactivate. A meeting is live right now. End it first, then deactivate.

I got “This group is inactive” when I tried to schedule or start a meeting. The group is paused. Press Reactivate on the group page, then try again.

Will members know the group is paused? Only if you leave the text option ticked. Then everyone invited to an upcoming meeting gets a text saying it’s cancelled. Otherwise nobody is contacted.
