Searching Your Dashboard
The search bar at the top of your dashboard looks through your contacts, conversations, text messages, transcripts, AI agents, groups and campaigns at once, and shows the matches grouped by type.
How to search
Type into the search bar at the top of your dashboard. Results appear as you type, and the dashboard makes way for a results screen:
- A heading shows what you searched for.
- A row of tabs sits under the heading: All, plus one tab for each kind of result that matched, with its count.
- All shows the top 5 matches of each kind. Click See all on a section, or click its tab, to see just that kind of result.
- Inside a tab you’ll see 10 results at first. If there are more, Show more at the bottom loads the next 10.
Click any result to open it. To go back to your dashboard, click Back to dashboard, press Esc, or click the × in the search bar.
When you search for a phone number, Contacts, Text messages and Conversations come first, because you’re usually looking for a person. For anything else the order is AI Agents, Contacts, Conversations, Text messages, Transcripts, Groups, then Campaigns.
What each section matches
| Section | Matches on | Order |
|---|---|---|
| AI Agents | Agent name, description, tags, and the name or number of the phone line it answers | Names that start with your search first, then most recently used |
| Contacts | Name, company, email, and phone number from your address book and your contact lists | Favourites first, then most recently called |
| Conversations | The agent or phone line’s name, either phone number on the call, the number of the person a campaign called, the AI summary, and the words spoken in the transcript | Most recent first |
| Text messages | The other person’s phone number, their name in your address book, and the text of any message in the thread | Most recent message first |
| Transcripts | The words in transcripts made by TriLuna’s own transcription: calls you re-transcribed, recordings you uploaded on the Transcription page, and your Talking Diary entries | Most recent first |
| Groups | Group name and description | Newest first |
| Campaigns | Campaign name and description | Newest first |
A few details worth knowing:
- Searching is not case-sensitive.
piperfinds Piper. - Phone numbers match on digits, not formatting. Typing
604 555or(604) 555both find+1 604 555 …. You need at least 3 digits before numbers are searched, so a single digit doesn’t match every phone number you have. - Transcripts match whole words and phrases. Searching
invoicefinds a call where someone said “invoice”, butinvowon’t. Names, summaries, text messages and numbers match on part of a word, soinvostill finds a conversation whose summary mentions an invoice. - Transcripts match on part of a word, like names and summaries do, so
invofinds a re-transcribed call where someone said “invoice”. Each result shows the passage that matched. - Text message results show why they matched. When a message in the thread contains your search, the newest such message is shown under the result. Otherwise you’ll see the thread’s latest message.
What you’ll see
Search only finds things you can already open elsewhere in TriLuna. It never shows you anything new:
- AI Agents: agents you own, agents shared with you, your organisation’s agents, and TriLuna’s default agents. If you open an organisation agent you haven’t been given access to, you’ll be offered a Request access button, the same as on My AI Agents.
- Contacts: your own address book, plus the people in contact lists you own (for example, businesses you imported for a campaign). A list contact opens the list it was most recently added to and shows that list’s name. If someone is in both your address book and a list, they appear once, as the address-book entry.
- Conversations: calls on your phone numbers and calls handled by agents you own or have access to.
- Text messages: threads on the phone lines you can use on the SMS page. Clicking one opens that thread there. Blocked threads aren’t shown.
- Transcripts: re-transcriptions of calls you can see under Conversations, recordings you uploaded, and your own Talking Diary entries. Private diary entries never appear. A re-transcribed call opens its conversation page, and an upload opens its transcript on the Transcription page. A diary entry made with Just record has no page on the website, so open it in the app.
- Groups: groups you own, groups in your organisation, and groups where you’ve registered for a meeting. Archived groups aren’t shown.
- Campaigns: campaigns you own, and campaigns someone has shared with you by link. Shared campaigns are labelled Shared with you.
Linking to a search
The search is part of the page address. Searching for Piper changes the address to:
https://triluna.app/dashboard?search=Piper
Choosing a tab adds it to the address too. For example, https://triluna.app/dashboard?search=Piper&type=sms opens the text-message results.
You can bookmark that link or send it to a teammate. They’ll see the same search, but only with results they have access to.
Common questions
A conversation I know about isn’t showing up. Check whether the word was actually spoken in the call. Transcript matching needs the whole word, so try the full word or a different word from the call. You can also search by the caller’s phone number (3 or more digits). For campaign calls, searching the number of the person you called finds the conversation, even when your AI agent joined through its own line. If the call was on a number or agent you don’t have access to, search won’t show it.
What’s the difference between Conversations and Transcripts? Conversations searches the transcript written during the call. Transcripts searches text TriLuna’s own transcription produced afterwards. That can catch words the live transcript missed, and it also covers uploaded recordings and diary entries. A re-transcribed call can therefore show up in both sections.
Is this the same as search in the mobile app? Not quite. The TriLuna mobile app has its own search screen, which covers agents, contacts and conversations. Text messages, transcripts, groups, campaigns and contact-list contacts can only be searched from the dashboard for now.
Can I search direct messages or meetings? Not yet. Dashboard search covers the seven sections above. Direct messages and meetings still have their own screens.
