Managing a Contact List
A contact list is a reusable set of people. Build it once, keep it current, and point any campaign at it. This page covers everything you can do to a list from its page.
Adding people
- Add contact opens a small form: phone number (required), name, company, email, and optional talking points. Ten digits is enough for US and Canadian numbers; anywhere else, use the full international number.
- Import CSV adds everyone in a spreadsheet export. A header row with phone, name, email and company is recognised automatically, and any other column, including talking points, travels with each contact. UTF-8 files and files saved by Excel in Japanese (Shift_JIS) both keep their names and companies intact.
- Sync from sheet re-reads a connected Google Sheet and adds anyone new. See Create a Contact List from a Google Sheet.
Someone already on the list is skipped, and a number that has asked not to be called is never added.
Editing a contact
Hover a contact and click the pencil to edit their name, phone number, company, email or talking points in place. Save writes the change to the person’s record, so it applies everywhere that contact appears, including other lists you own and the next campaign that dials them.
Changing a phone number to one you already have on file is refused, so two records never merge by accident. Remove one of them instead.
Removing, reordering and details
- The trash icon removes the person from this list only. Their record, call history and do-not-call status are kept.
- Drag the handle on the left to change the order people are called in.
- Talking points appear under each contact. Other imported columns sit behind Details.
Everything about one number
Click any phone number, whether it’s on a call or in a campaign, to open that number’s details page. Alongside its call, SMS and voicemail history, the Lists & Campaigns card shows:
- the contact’s name, company, address and website, as imported or harvested
- every contact list of yours they’re on, each linking to the list
- every campaign that has them, with their latest status in it
A number you just harvested has no calls yet, but its page still shows which lists and campaigns it’s on.
Sharing and exporting
- Share gives teammates read-only or edit access, or creates a link for either. Only the list’s owner can share it.
- Export CSV downloads the list with every column, ready to re-import or hand off.
